Double chin reduction without surgery
The double chin reduction treatment (enzymatic chin lipolysis) helps reduce fat concentrated in the chin and neck area, commonly known as a “double chin.”
This procedure significantly improves the appearance and contour of the jawline, without surgery or scarring, through the injection of enzymes such as Belkyra or PPC, among others.
How does double chin reduction treatment work?
This is an injectable treatment using an enzyme similar to bile, formulated to be injected in-office to reduce fat in the chin area, known as a double chin.
When injected into the subcutaneous fat in the treatment area under the chin, the enzymes permanently destroy fat cells.
Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat.
The eliminated fat from the treatment area is processed through the body’s natural metabolic mechanisms.
FAQ: More Questions about Double Chin Reduction
How many sessions are needed to eliminate a double chin?
With intervals of 1 month between sessions, patients typically need between 2 and 6 sessions.
Is double chin treatment painful?
Discomfort during the treatment is quite tolerable.
For a few days afterward, the product may cause swelling, puffiness, and redness in the treated area. This is an expected and desirable outcome, as the inflammatory response contributes to the success of the procedure.
Who is this treatment for?
It’s intended for adults with moderate to severe submental fat, commonly known as a double chin.
Does double chin reduction treatment really work?
Based on multiple clinical trials involving more than a thousand patients with moderate to severe chin fullness, the treated group showed a notable clinical reduction of 1 to 2 grades in neck fullness compared to placebo.
Can Belkyra be used to treat other areas of the body?
The safe and effective use of the product for treating subcutaneous fat outside the submental area has not been established and is not recommended.
